GPPS cups showcase beverages beautifully with their glass-like transparency but sacrifice durability—these brittle containers crack easily. HIPS cups trade clarity for enhanced toughness and vibrant colors, making them popular for social gatherings and themed events.

Significant limitations emerge with temperature-sensitive applications. PS performs poorly with hot liquids and acidic beverages, potentially compromising both container integrity and beverage safety. Environmental concerns compound these drawbacks—polystyrene's complex recycling requirements result in lower recovery rates, often relegating used cups to landfills.
